The Nik Collection (DxO) also comes with standalone versions, so you could give it a try and see if that works for you.įor me all Nik Collection plugins do work without problems in Affinity Photo v1 and v2, and I don't need to use the mentioned workaround for these. I never found the reason for this though. Then I switch back to Affinity Photo while ON1 Effects is running in the background and I can successfully launch the ON1 Effects plugin from Affinity and everything is working as expected. My workaround in that case is to start the standalone version of the program (ON1 Effects for example) besides Affinity Photo so that the main program is just running. When I select on of these from the menu, they just don't do anything. I am having this problem with ON1 plugins (in Affinity Photo 1 and 2 as well). Nik Color Efex will take you on a journey, transforming your photos and unleashing your creative. For users of Nik Collection 6, the plugins will be automatically installed in the correct folder of compatible versions of Affinity Photo. Each filter has up to six unique modes for applying visual effects, making them as individual as you. Because of that I developed a habit to not rely on the central plugin folder but specify the plugin path explicitly for each of the „problematic“ plugins (see screenshot).Īs far as plugins „just doing nothing“ are concerned: With more than 50 creative filters and 20 original image recipes, Nik Color Efex injects a vibrant splash of color and atmosphere into your photos. Some of these problems were related to „wrong“ versions of plugin files lurking in the plugin folder. Discover how to record and configure macros, which allow you to automate various operations in Affinity Photo and play them back instantly to speed up your w. I also experienced some crashing or „just not working“ plugins with Affinity. Hopefully, the stand-alones will still work.for now.Topaz tries and I get a message that eror with plugins and then tries to open but crashes Affinity 2 you will need to keep using PS/LR rentalware subscriptions every year for the newest annual DxO plug-ins to work - but then again, rentalware shuts off anyway along with the plug-in. Looking at the compatibility list, it appears DxO upgrades are only going back one year on working plug-ins for Adobe software, i.e. Needs a generic launch icon for them than a spattering of 8 separate launch icons. During the installation the NIK COLLECTION installer asked me to uninstall the previous version, so I did it. The last Saturday working with NIK COLLECTION as plug-in I download the last version. Don't know what it may have done to the old Lightroom (Likely not working either!), but I hate that program and never use it (Don't care for its cataloging as I do not store images on my computers.) I can use the NIK Collections 6 as a stand-alone though with a lot of icons on the desktop to launch each one. I have the Affinity Photo 1.10.4 version (Great Software). I deleted it from the Plug-Ins folder in Adobe Photoshop (CS6 version) and it sort of works again.sort of. The installer wont work, but if you had a previously working installation on an older Mac, you only have to copy all necessary files to the appropriate directories. Oddly, all other software updates and plugins work with old Photoshop CS6, but seems DxO cratered it for not working for older PS users. Looking at the DxO Collections site, it says Nik Collections 6 is not compatible with that older PS versions. I installed it on my perpetual licensed Photoshop CS6 and now PS throws up all sorts of error warnings and will crash out. Installed Photoshop-compatible 64-bit plugins can be made available to Affinity Photo to extend the range of effects available to you. WARNING: I bought the NIK Collection 6 on the DxO Black Friday Sale.
